Study found that when fed with Ω-3-fortified feedstaff muscle synthesis is promoted in pigs due to enhanced gene expression of the signaling factor IGF-1 and insulin receptor associated with muscle synthesis, the study confirmed the connection between Ω-3-fortified feeding and pig growth. [1]
Studies in sows shown that the addition of Schizochytrium algae powder to feed significantly increases DHA content in pork.
More studies proves that feeding feed rich in Ω-3 can significantly alter the fatty acid composition in pig fat tissue and lean meat.
In addition to meat quality, experiments also found that feeding Schizochytrium algae powder enhance the immunity of pigs. [2]
